Good Afternoon Families,

I have exciting news to share: the framework for our new outdoor classroom has been installed. The rest of the outdoor classroom should be in place within the next few weeks.

Friday was Earth Day. I huge shout-out to our students and staff who spent a portion of the morning cleaning up the school yard! Well Done! A note of appreciation to our Excel Program for also taking time earlier in the week to do a school yard cleanup!

You are asked not to drive into the school parking lot to drop off or pickup your children during school hours (8:00-3:00) for the safety of students and staff. Pylons are also in place for the safety of everyone!

Education Week

April 25-29 is Educators’ Appreciation Week.  Our administrative team will be recognizing staff this week. If you are interested in having your child write a “Thank You, Drawing, or Message” to a staff member, we will give them an opportunity to pass it out.  It can be their Teacher (past or present), Bus Driver, Crossing Guard, EPA, Excel Leader, Lunch Monitor, secretary, etc…!

Primary Orientation

We are holding an orientation session for parents/guardians of students entering primary next year on Monday, May 2 from 1-2pm. This session will be done virtually. A link will be shared with families this week.

Yoga

Lunchtime Yoga begins this week at school for students in grades 2-6. Students require a permission form to participate. Yoga will take place tomorrow for grade 4-6 students and Wednesday for grade 2-3 students.

P-6 Field Trip to Watch “The Lion King”

We still require chaperones/volunteers for our May 12th field trip.  To volunteer, you will need a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check (CRC)  these checks processed.  The CAR is now available online and is no charge.

If you require a Criminal Record's Check, you can go to http://mybackcheck.com.  You can also go directly to an RCMP detachment. We can provide a volunteer letter to reduce the fee.  If needed, please contact Mrs. Betts.

Subway lunch takes place tomorrow and Little Caesar’s Pizza takes place on Wednesday.
