Good Afternoon Families,

We are now into the last week of October. Staff on Friday participated in professional development in Reading, Writing, Math and Well-Being. It is important for staff to engage in continual professional development to learn about the latest research and strategies to support our students. 

Our monthly SAC Meeting takes place tomorrow at 6pm. It will be held virtually again this month.

We are asking that toys and costumes be kept at home. Toys (stuffed animals, Pokemon cards, toy cars, fidget spinners, etc…) are difficult to manage, given the health protocols we are implementing at school. Students can keep these items in their school bag if they are bringing them for Excel.

On Friday, October 29th, students are encouraged to wear orange and black to school. Costumes are too difficult for our staff to manage in addition to ensuring that all children are wearing protective facemasks and practising proper hand hygiene. We are planning school-wide activities for the day. Due to health protocols and life threatening allergies, we cannot accept food donations from home for special events or holidays this year. The school will provide treats for students.

Subway is now an option for lunch on Monday’s through Healthy Hunger. Little Caesar’s Pizza lunch will continue on Wednesday’s. Lunches must be ordered by noon on Saturday or you will need to wait until the following week.

Picture orders are due Thursday, October 28. Picture retakes will be done on November 8th.
A reminder that there is no parking or stopping between the two poles across from the school entrance. There is also no parking or stopping where the pylons are placed. We are also asking you not to drive into the school driveway/parking lot when students are present.
