GBES Weekly Family Forecast (Oct. 11 - Oct. 15)

Good Afternoon Families,

It is hard to believe that we are at the end of the Thanksgiving Weekend. We have been so fortunate to have such nice weather. We hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing long weekend.

A reminder to send in a reusable water bottle each day. We have noticed an increase in the number of students coming to the office looking for water bottles.

Grade 6 students will continue to write the Provincial Reading, Writing and, Math Assessment this week.

Our second fire drill will be completed this week.

Picture Day takes place on Wednesday, October 13. Information about Picture Day was shared with you last week.

Wednesday is the first day for Little Caesar’s Hot Lunch Program through Healthy Hunger.

We love greeting everyone at the crosswalk each morning and at the end of the day. It is one of my favourite parts of the day!!! Mary and Petra do an amazing job of keeping everyone safe as they cross the street on the way to school.  For families dropping students off by vehicle, it is important to follow road signs immediately surrounding the crosswalks in front of the school (no stopping).Vehicle entry to the school parking lot is restricted during school hours (8:00-3:00). The entranceway is narrow, parking is limited and there is little space to turn around. The parking space closest to the main entrance is for people with mobility issues.

Masks will continue to be required for anyone in a school building or on a school bus for the foreseeable future.  As we currently do, masks may be removed when eating and drinking, participating in physical activity, playing an instrument, and during mask breaks when appropriately distanced from others.

Mandatory Vaccination for Staff, Outside Service Providers and Volunteers - Staff and individuals providing services in public schools will be required to show proof of vaccination by November 30.

Have a great week,
