Good Afternoon,

We are entering the final week of the school year. Tomorrow is our Moving up Ceremony. We will celebrate the elementary years of our grade 6 students going to junior high in September. Grade 6 students also have a field trip planned for Tuesday.

A special thank-you to Gale Downey, our SAC Chair and grade 6 grandparent. She has been instrumental in organizing and working with the grade 6’s to complete the tile. The tile will be placed on the ceiling at the entrance to our school. Grade 6 families will be able to view the tile at the Moving Up Ceremony. The ceremony begins at 1:00.

Tomorrow is the last day for Subway lunch. Wednesday is an Assessment & Evaluation Day. There is no school for students.

Students will be dismissed at 10:30 on Thursday, June 30th.

When will I receive my Child’s Report Card?

Term 3 Elementary Report Cards will be distributed on Thursday, June 30. Families will continue to receive report cards electronically. Report cards will be emailed to the email address provided by parents in PowerSchool or to the email address parents have most recently been using in communicating with your child’s homeroom teacher.

If you do not receive a report card or if you do not have email access, please contact the school (gbes@hrce.ca or (902) 464-5184) so that other arrangements can be made to provide you with your child’s report card information.

School Supplies

A reminder to send in $40.00 and or make an online payment if the school is purchasing school supplies for your children. Contact Mrs. Betts or Mr. Hurley if you have any questions.

Lost & Found

We have 4 tables of lost and found items at GBES.  The students have gone through and took what they believed to be theirs.  We still have a lot of items here.  On Tuesday, June 28th all remaining items will be packed up and donated to a local charity.  Thank you!

Library Books

Last week was the last day to borrow books. Students are asked to return their library books tomorrow.
