This Week's Forecast Oct 29-Nov2
The biggest thing this week is Halloween. There will be a costume parade in the gym and short dance in the afternoon. Any other activities would be arranged by our classroom teachers. Masks, and reasonable costume accessories are ok ( no real bats etc). This is a fun week but a challenge with excitement, anxiety, changed sleep patterns, and a mountain of candy. As a school, we will doing to best to help your child have a successful week. Please do the same with sleep, and candy intake.
Thank you to Kathleen Croft and Jennifer Trim for organizing and running the Halloween Howl. More than half our families attended the event. Thank you for everyone that volunteered and attending our first event of the year.
Self-Regulation: Self-reg is a huge help to reframe the behaviours we will see this week. We know that students, and sometimes adult, are thrown off during a week like this. See things this week as stress behaviour not a misbehaviour.
Fire Drill: We are having our last fire drill of the fall on Monday. This will be fire drill #3. They will start again in the spring.
Last chance for our survey. We are looking at collecting feedback from families on the best way to work on self-regulation together. Can you please fill out the following survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PNMYGLR
We had a special guest last Thursday. Cole Butcher is a local race car driver. He is one of 7 drivers participating in the Kulwicki Driver Development Program and the ONLY canadian. He spoke to the students about his road to being a race car driver, and answered student questions. Every class was able to meet Cole, tour the car/trailer, and ask questions.
Family Picture: We are still looking for family pictures. Send one in or email me a picture at firstname.lastname@example.org
